🛡️ JAGRATHA SAMITI

Kanjirappally Grama Panchayath

📖 What is Jagratha Samiti?

Jagratha Samiti is a local-level vigilance and protection forum working continuously to safeguard the rights of women and children, ensure their physical, mental, and personal safety, and prevent atrocities, rights violations, and social marginalization against them.

To establish a protective mechanism, Jagratha Samiti acts swiftly on matters requiring immediate local intervention. The committee also works using available legal protections and statutory systems to address cases and issues that were previously abandoned due to the absence of dedicated committees.

🎯 Objectives & Goals of Jagratha Samiti

✔️ Protect the rights of women and children, ensuring strong interventions and solutions against any form of violence, discrimination, denial of justice, or exploitation.
✔️ Receive complaints where women and children are parties, ensuring speedy resolutions through direct interventions or support mechanisms.
✔️ Escalate unresolved complaints/issues to the District Jagratha Samiti, Women's Commission, other government bodies, or legal aid agencies, and follow up to deliver grass-roots results.
✔️ Coordinate government-level agencies and welfare schemes dedicated to protecting women and girls, fostering synergy among organizations with similar goals.
✔️ Foster a safe social environment in the community to prevent any adverse situations against women and children.
✔️ Build community groups and leverage public networks to achieve these goals effectively.
✔️ Provide community monitoring and support to prevent the misuse of woman and child welfare initiatives.
