Panchayat Level Tree Committee
Panchayat Level Tree Committee
The Panchayat Level Tree Committee has been established at the Grama Panchayat level to conserve trees standing in public roads and public spaces, and to prevent potential hazards caused by trees or branches uprooting or breaking and falling.
Tree Committees at the Panchayat level were constituted as per Circular No. 248/RC3/2016/LSGD dated 14.07.2017 issued by the Local Self Government Department. The committee operates locally to eliminate delays associated with seeking approval from the District Level Tree Committee for tree removal and to ensure timely decisions during emergencies.
