- Hilly Terrain: A hilly/midland region influenced by the Western Ghats mountain range. The topography consists of small hills and valleys.
- Soil Nature: Mainly Laterite soil is found, which is highly suitable for agriculture.

- Tropical Climate: Experiences a humid tropical climate.
- High Rainfall: This is one of the areas receiving the highest rainfall in Kerala. It receives abundant rainfall through Southwest monsoon (Kalavarsham) and Northeast monsoon (Thulamazha).
