Awards

Kanjirappally Grama Panchayat has achieved notable accomplishments and recognitions at both state and district levels during various periods, highlighting its excellence in local governance, public welfare initiatives, and waste management programs (including the outstanding performance of the Haritha Karma Sena).

The major awards and recognitions conferred upon panchayats for administrative excellence and project planning are as follows:

1. Swaraj Trophy

This is a state/district-level award presented annually by the Local Self-Government Department to Grama Panchayats demonstrating outstanding performance. It is awarded based on criteria such as efficient utilization of plan funds, tax collection, file disposal rate, and the systematic conduct of Grama Sabhas. In previous years, Kanjirappally Panchayat has actively competed for the Swaraj Trophy at the district level and secured top ranks on several occasions.

2. ISO Certification

Kanjirappally Grama Panchayat has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification for modernizing its office systems to deliver fast and transparent services to the public. This achievement was secured primarily through the efficient operation of its Front Office system and strong performance in e-governance.

3. Haritha Mithram / Suchitwa Padhavi Awards

Kanjirappally Panchayat earned the 'Suchitwa Padhavi' (Sanitation Status) recognition, awarded by the Government of Kerala under the Nava Kerala Karmapathadhi to local self-government institutions excelling in sanitation and waste management. The door-to-door collection of non-biodegradable waste by the Haritha Karma Sena and the effective coordination of plastic recycling played a pivotal role in achieving this status.

4. Ardram Kerala Award

The Panchayat secured a prominent position in the district-level evaluation lists for the Ardram Kerala Award, which is presented in recognition of exceptional contributions to the health sector, upgrading of Primary Health Centres, and effective COVID-19 prevention activities.
